With different majors and more than a Best Of some already in their discography, it's great, can a proposition that covers all the bases in an attack since. For Ann and Nancy Wilson, "The Essential Heart" is just that the first Dreamboat Annie on Mushroom Records, the long-term success in the Portrait / CBS its third wave in the Capitol are all big hits here.

Although born as a "female Led Zeppelin" if 70's power-rockers picked up at the "Crazy On You" and"Magic Man" Heart soon developed its own personality. The bad bite "Barracuda" contains one of the 70's all-time great riffs, and Dog & Butterfly (both the album and song) was a rock album incredibly different. But like most groups, when the state ends up becoming a superstar, there is almost always the tension. Heart was not different, and if the internal dispute over the lackluster success of testing and Passion Works (in spite of these songs sound like LED "How can we refuse"), seemedHeart would be phased out soon.

Against all odds, signed with Capitol Records Heart took a pen and Bernie Taupin song back in the Top Ten 1985's "These Dreams" (originally scheduled for Stevie Nicks and loaded with the same kind of atmosphere) kick-started yet another wave successful. Soon the heart slick MTV favorites, with big hair and big hits, but at a price. If you watch "The Essentials", the second disc, you will notice that only two of the 19 tracks were written by Ann and Nancy. The trendthat 80 went to groups like Aerosmith and Cheap Trick in order - sometimes violently - Songs by established singers such as Dianne Warren ("Who did you run"), Mutt Lange (cover All I Want to Make Love To You ") and Steinberg / Kelly ("Alone") announced truancy Heart memorable rock and pop, but he argues in a creative corner. The way home after announcing that Ann and Nancy, a sabbatical from which only recently have again.

There is much to love this series, some oflesser-known hits ("Tell It Like It Is," "heartless"), to a certain selection choice album ("Ring Them Bells" with the late Layne Staley). By collecting all these songs on a disc, "The Essential Heart" is also an essential CD from a band that changes the sound of the '70s and '80s helped.
