Jimi Hendrix is one of the greatest artists and guitarists of all time. Ok, now with that said, with the revision. Jimi Hendrix has been through some important reprints and still continued, so what's different about this series? Now for audio, nothing really, but the DVD is where the collection is unique.
The audio portion of the disc is nothing new if you have previously experienced Jimi. This album has a debut album and in my personal opinion, my favorite. It features songs like"Purple Haze, Foxy Lady," "Fire," "Red House" and other hits. The package of new albums have been remastered, and it is, but compared to Greatest Hits albums remastered or the last album, there is nothing else. To say that it is a good thing! The audio portion is great! It 's a clean environment, but still owns the old school Jimi in the 60s. If the CD in and listen to Purple Haze again takes you back in time and you're groovin 'again. Despite the absence ofDifference is really great that the mixer does not add anything new. Remaster some of the music industry does nothing now compared. Then, the sound is amazing. In my opinion, I do not think you can much better with the sound of it, without destroying the true sound of Jimi (Yes, there are arguments). The audio part is what this album listens well and is a given.
And now the DVD:
For those who have seen the DVD, Ishould say, for fans of Jimi is very cool. This is not cheese or something, is in my opinion, a good documentary Jimi. It is not the best, but honestly, for $ 10, you get something. I do not know if many of you have seen, but there is a documentary by Nirvana (Nevermind their album), which is very similar to this.
For this DVD, they are clearly not Jimi chaired interview. Instead, he took on a more modern approach and interviewed people likeEddie Kramer, Chas Chandler, Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding (which is really cool). As in 2010, bring you back like it was recording with Jimi, and experience, they had to do the album and the songs play. I do not move "or" Land Lady Documentaries yet, but I saw must assume are the same as those experienced doc.
Over the next 17-minute film, Eddie Kramer (and the rest of the band) is that through songs like Purple Haze, may be held this love,The Wind Cries Mary, Are You Experienced. During these songs, many photos and archive footage is shown of Jimi, Mitch and Noel during their career experience. A couple of shots better than Jimi playing guitar live to play drums Mitch, Noel base game, etc. This is how to store records flashbacks. Strangely, there was almost no footage of Jimi in the studio. Curiously, once again, the material I cited, very little. In fact, the documentary shows, above all, Kramer and hisMixing with Jimi and how some of the songs were mixed in different ways. The rest of the interviewer to talk about the songs above. are for me, I wanted more, even if that meant adding some live footage of Jimi playing his songs live. Instead, the interviewer is talking about Jimi songs. Which is cool and informative, but not exactly what fans want Jimi (at least some).
The packaging is what you expect from a set deluxe. E 'in a digipak, andcomes with CD, DVD and a booklet of 35 pages with notes and texts to the creation of this album. It also features photographs of Jimi and the band (although things especially Jimi of course) and offers photos of posters and small. It 's definitely nice to check out. The album, Ladyland in particular, also feature original cover art and concepts for the album.
So in all, I think this is a worthy reissue of one of the greatest albums of Jimi. I think the DVDis cold, but not spectacular, then again to $ 10, what are you waiting for? If you buy all the albums remastered, then you're really always about 80 - 100 minutes worth. Furthermore, you are always with the music to him. For fans of Jimi and those with the remastered series before, you're basically spending $ 10 for the DVD and the booklet (which is cool in itself, I add) and I mean that there is still a worthy investment for the price. But for those who do not own these albums, then thisfor the collection. The sound is excellent, the DVD is a good watch and the packaging is great! RIP Jimi!
