Customer Reviews

Rolled Gold + includes 40 of the best Stones songs of the '60s (more for reasons unknown, two from the 70s), which is almost twice that of Hot Rocks. All of their UK & U.S. hits are included, along with some key album tracks. RG + contains all 21 tracks of Hot Rocks, plus 15 from More Hot Rocks, making the final compilation of the stones. A couple of weaker songs are included, but these are only for a more complete picture of the band's musical development.

The Greatest Hits Collection Specifications

Is there a more dependable hit-making duo in music than Brooks & Dunn? Not likely. Since their debut album in 1991, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn--two middling solo artists who turned out to be dynamite once paired together by a savvy record executive--have charted consistently with songs of various tempos and temperaments. There's smooth pop (a cover of the '70s rock hit "My Maria"), hard-charging honky-tonk ("Hard Workin' Man"), thoughtful ballads ("She Used to Be Mine"), and the line-dancing craze's very own Rosetta stone ("Boot Scootin' Boogie"). The Greatest Hits Collection gathers 16 of the duo's best-known songs, plus three new tracks, "Honky Tonk Truth," "He's Got You," and "Days of Thunder." --Daniel Durchholz

How to make a great punk album with more than 3 chords? Making Irish music, singer and Roudy Get a double speed up.
Songs of the Irish have a lot of tragedy, irony, anger and humor to them. This translates perfectly into the songs that Shane MacGowan wrote. His songs deal with the darker side of life in the form of a story almost like seeing a movie that does not get more singers, who does a better job to write songs that did not like the original singer. The groupdoes a great job giving a feel for the lyrics.
This album is the last real production MacGowan. The next album "I Should Fall From Grace Of God", the rest of the band put in two cents and a producer who takes away the edge bands. "Peace and Love" is where you lose interest, resume and the band for many reasons.
My personal opinion is that you get if you want to feel the energy of the band in its primary condition.

So Far So Good

So Far So Good Overview

Japanese only SHM-CD (Super High Material CD - playable on all CD players) pressing. Universal. 2008.

So Far So Good Specifications

So Far So Good offers up 13 of his previous hits plus a new song, "Please Forgive Me," a gooey, Michael Bolton-like ballad. The album starts out with "Summer of '69," the appealing autobiographical song about the 10-year-old Adams learning to play his first guitar in Ontario, and includes "(Everything I Do) I Do for You," the synth-laced ballad that wound up in the Guinness Book of World Records after topping the British singles charts for 16 weeks. With its over-the-top, gravelly vocals, So Far So Good reminds one of Rod Stewart's 1980s work when he was coasting on past achievements. Unfortunately, Adams has never had a period like Stewart's glory years in the '70s. --Geoffrey Himes

Customer Reviews

As only a casual fan of this storyteller in this release is perfect for me. Not only is the mega-hits like "Summer of '69, which was played ad nauseum, since liberation, but also the wealth of more strokes of mid-level - and that's what this album.

Of course with a Greatest Hits package, you always get someone Anorak complain that this or that track should really be an obscure EP from 1983 here. But the fans, as they have allAlbum however, and its best for road use and abuse. For the rest of us, as Adams' can induce both ballads rip tear and vomiting in almost equal measure, but an album of songs in circulation is probably the way to go.

Ultimately, the best advertisement for this release is the track list. Your on board or if your IMHO is not for every clunker like Kids Want to Rock tunes, working their innocent charm, completely independent of the publicfree will, like Run To You and Can not Stop This Thing We Started.

I actually started the tour on this release, when they sailed across Australia and support, even though my companions and I were more on the context, for example, have a Metallica concert, we really like the upbeat swing of Rock n Roll Show''used Adams Sat

Welcome to anyone who hits on his radio buzzed encouraged, but does not want to throw their CD shelf with the dubious pleasurescomplete catalog Mans, although no liner notes or anecdotes.

Under Great White Northern Lights (2LP 180 Gram Vinyl)

Under Great White Northern Lights (2LP 180 Gram Vinyl) Overview

In the summer of 2007, shortly after the release of their 6th album 'Icky Thump', The White Stripes headed
north of their hometown of Detroit to embark on an ambitious journey across Canada. The plan was to play a show in every province and territory in Canada, from B.C. to Newfoundland to Nunavut. 'Having never done a tour of Canada, Meg and I thought it was high time to go whole hog... from the ocean to the permafrost' says Jack White. 'We wanted to play out of the way towns that don't usually get shows... the shows are better, it's better for the people, it's a better experience, it's way more unique, something interesting is going to happen... hopefully.'
White called upon filmmaker Emmett Malloy to come and document this trek for the band. Malloy had directed videos for
the band in the past, and seemed eager to hit the road with them. Equipped with a couple of 16mm cameras, and a few other documenting devices, the band and crew all headed north. The end result was 'Under Great White Northern Lights'.
'Under Great White Northern Lights' is a visual and emotional feature length film documenting The White Stripes making their way through Canada and culminating with their 10th anniversary show in Nova Scotia. The film documents the band playing shows all over Canada; from local bowling alleys, to city buses, and onward to the legendary Savoy Theater for the
10th Anniversary show. A show that turned out to be the longest show the band had ever done on stage together.
The film captures intimate moments of Jack and Meg both on and off stage as they travel through some of the most
remote parts of the northern Yukon Territory. Along the way, they have some nice casual conversations about their ten years together, fire cannons, play some of their biggest songs together on stage, and even play a 'one note show.' The cameras were there to capture every waking moment.
What 'Northern Lights' does best, is document one of the biggest bands in the world, playing to local crowds in small towns. Some of these towns were so small that many of the locals had no idea who The White Stripes were - they just knew something big was going on in their town. This forced a band that had been together for a decade to go back to a place reminiscent of the first shows they ever played together. For the first time in a long time, no one knew who they were and they had to make a first impression with their music. The live footage captured in this film shows that Jack and Meg were clearly ready for this.
Beyond the live footage, some of the films most memorable moments happen off-stage - offering an insightful look into the very private and complex world that is The White Stripes. It was shortly after this tour that The White Stripes canceled
their fall tour of the United States - making the ten year anniversary a truly pivotal milestone for this legendary band.
